Pakistani celebrity invited to inaugural ceremony of US President-elect


Pakistan is among one of those countries whose celebrities of world repute have been invited by US Presidential Inaugural Committee to attend the inaugural ceremony of the 44th US President‑elect, Barak Hussain Obama in Washington DC on January 20.

Faran Tahir is a solitary Pakistani who has been invited by US Presidential Inaugural Committee to attend the inaugural ceremony.

Faran Tahir is a renowned Hollywood actor. His world‑hit Hollywood film is "Iron Man" that earned $ 98,618,668 and was displayed in 4,105 theaters of the USA and Canada and ranked number one at the box office.

Faran Tahir is son of Director General of Pakistan National Council of Arts Naeem Tahir.

Tahir did graduation from University of California Berkeley and the Institute for Advance Theater Training, Harvard. He began his showbiz career in 1981 in Pakistan by working in the PTV dramas and stage dramas.

Besides this world‑fame Hollywood film "Iron Man", Tahir has also appeared in the episodes of the dramas like "NYPD Blues, The West Wing" alias Law and Order 24 and Lost.

Tahir is going to play as "Captain Robau" in the forthcoming film "Star Trek" which would be released in May.
