"The app aims to enhance your experience of Ramadan through combining smart technology and beautiful design with spirituality and learning," its designers said to Daily Mirror in an interview.

This handy program points to Mecca, allowing Muslims to direct their prayers. It also gives the exact distance in miles and can be used in a variety of languages. The app has jumped 84 places in the Google Play rankings to become the six hundred and seventy-first most popular app in the UK.

Claiming to be the most popular Islamic app in Britain, Muslim Pro offers "the most accurate prayer time application on mobile devices". It tells you when to pray and fast, as well as offering directions to nearby halal restaurants when it's time to eat.

The app is something of a one stop shop, with a full diary of Islamic events and even a copy of the Quran complete with recitations.

This handy app draws influence from popular photo-editing programs, but allows users to emblazon their images with religious quotes.

Muslims can choose from a variety of religious issues and then share their words on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter. The app is particularly popular in the Middle East, where it is popular among young people.
