Former
director general of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt-Gen (retd) Asad
Durrani has said that Pakistan had 'most likely' revealed the position of
former Al Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden to the US, a report published on
the AlJazeera website said.
While discussion to Al Jazeera’s show, the past
ISI chief said that he can’t say anything regarding OBL’s incident but his
judgment was that ISI didn’t know about him but likely they knew it before. He
said that they were about to expose his position when it will require equal
exchange because these kind of presence couldn’t be hidden. He further added
that for that his location was exposed on confirming the issue related to
Afghanistan. By answering a question regarding US operation was done with the
collaboration of ISI, he said that if
ISI was also involve according to me they were doing good work and by providing
them information was good decision. He also said that it was his own point of
view as per reality. He also continued that it wasn’t revealed due to some
political issues and citizens of our country was going to be painful for them
about government that they are involve with US and Osama bin laden is popular
personality in our country. He was part of Inter-Services Intelligence as director
general during 1990 and 1991 also representing Pakistan to Germany in late 90s
and for KSA in 2000s. This interview will be on air in month of April 2015. Chief
of Al Qaeda’s killing attack was end up of 10 year struggle of US. Similarly
Pakistan doesn’t accept that ISI sheltered Osama bin Laden.
