Pak Turk relations are getting very stron gin this regime of PML N. Recently COAS made a visit to Turkey and met his counterpart. Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Tuesday held separate meetings with Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations, the Turkish leadership lauded contributions of the army in defeating terrorism and emphasized fraternal ties between Pakistan and Turkey.
It said that the army chief assured the Turkish government total support in handling security challenges. Later, General Sharif met Turkey’s Minister for Defence Vecdi Gönül and vowed to further enhance defense collaboration.
He also met his counterpart and assured of his full support. Here it is necessary to mention that like Pakistan, Turkey is also getting attacks by extremists outfits, recently the capital was hit by twin bombs which killed dozens of citizens.
Other than that Kurdish and inner disputes of Turkey are also making it in need of having good relations with strong military power countries, and in this list Pakistan’s name comes first.
With the passage of time, both countries are getting closer to each other. We see this in both economic and vice versa terms. This could also cause tension to neighboring countries.
