Pakistan's ruling party secures Lahore throne again

Lahore told PTI to be more popular and work hard for the next election if they want to take the throne.

Last night as per the unofficial results claimed success of PML- N in the NA 122 by-elections, social media got overwhelmed by the League's tweets. 

Meanwhile, according to the final unofficial and unverified results from NA-144, Independent candidate Riazul Haq succeeded with 83,240 votes while PML-N’s Ali Arif Chaudhry secured second place with 41,050 votes. 

According to the final unofficial and unverified results from PP-147, PTI's Shoaib Siddique succeeded with 31,993 votes while PML-N's Mohsin Latif secured second place with 28,641 votes.

The voting process began at 5:00AM on Sunday for the biggest by-elections in Pakistan’s history that is likely to decide the future course of the country’s politics. The key battle took place in Lahore, traditionally considered the epicenter of the country's politics.

A close competition was expected between the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led by flamboyant cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan.

Polling took place under strict security arrangements with Pakistan Army personnel alongside police deployed at sensitive polling stations to avoid any untoward incidents.

whole day media and social media remain fully charged for covering the biggest by-election. Social media got overwhelmed during and after the results were unofficially announced.

Who can forget celebs in this all. Hamza Ali Abbasi posted a balanced status after the unverified success of ruling party. He might have learnt now that his posts are famous among the internet population in Pakistan. Other than that Aseefa Bhutto Zradari tweeted to Maryam Nawaz and congratulated her. 

Maryam Nawaz's twitter got active as the results started coming. While Imran Khan's twitter was seen numb during the polling and after that.

The less margin between the win and loss of both the candidates tells that PTI need to do bit more homework. It was a good sign that turnout crossed more than 45% but much more action from the supporters was needed. Party was in need of voters along supporters.

Something which pinches us all, why the party chairman did not come on screen or appeared to show support, along that Sheikh Rasheed also did not came on any TV channel to show his support for the ally party.As if they were aware of the results and had a guess they might lose.
