Why Umar Akmal drops out from T20 Squad?

Umar Akmal is talented and a good batsman but due to some reasons he is always trapped in controversies.

The 25-year-old Umar was allegedly involved in an incident involving “mistreatment” of women while playing a first-class game in Hyderabad last week and was issued a show cause notice requiring him to appear before selectors.

Chief selector Haroon Rasheed said Umar was dropped on the instructions of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

“Umar had been penciled in for selection, but he has subsequently been dropped on instructions from the PCB, as he has been issued with a show-cause notice for bringing the board and Pakistan cricket into disrepute,” Rasheed was quoted as saying in a PCB release.

A PCB statement said Akmal was in contention for a place in the T20 squad, but he was dropped after press reports revealed that “he had brought PCB and Pakistan Cricket into disrepute."

Umar was last year jailed for beating a traffic warden in Lahore and his obscene photos circulated on social media a lot. Recently Umar was also seen dancing in a party.

PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan said Umar would be given an opportunity to clarify his actions.

“There should be an inquiry and Umar will be given an opportunity and after that we will take action,” Khan told media. “He is suspended and was not included in the team before we make a decision.

“Basically our players are not educated, most of them are school dropouts, so this becomes a problem and we will address that as well.”

In an interview to a national news channel, Umar said he was just dining out with boys whose name he will not take. Management was informed for my activity and I did nothing immoral there. This is not just to drop him off from the team. Surely Umar will give justification for his before board but Umar remained unaware for this decision by the board.

What is the reason that Umar gets into the limelight but behavioural misconduct? The reason could be that at very young age he got lots of fame and now his immodest behaviour is not enough to handle this fame.

Many Pakistani players get involved into some controversies because of their ignorance. But from past few incidents the board keeps them warning. Even then Umar did something which became a problem for this talented player.

Younis Khan broke Miandad's record, became highest run scorer

This week when we were all occupied by former Captain and his politics tragedy, here the news of Younis Khan came and made the nation forget about PTI’s defeat.

Younis Khan surpassed Javed Miandad as Pakistan’s highest run-getter in Test cricket, bringing up the landmark with a huge six off Moeen Ali in the first Test against England on Tuesday.

The 37-year-old needed just 19 more runs to pass Miandad’s tally of 8,832 runs scored in 124 matches during an illustrious career which stretched from 1976 to 1993.

Younis was on 8,814 runs in 101 Tests, with a Pakistan record of 30 centuries, before the match started and said he wasn't feeling nervous at the prospect of overtaking the legendary Miandad whose aggregate had stood for 22 years as Inzamam-ul-Haq fell two runs short of equaling the tally in his last Test, against South Africa in 2007.

“Records aside, I want to bat for my country and the best identity for me is not records. I want to be recognized as a batsman who always played for his country,” Younis had said before the match.

Like Miandad, Younis hit a hundred on debut which came against Sri Lanka at Rawalpindi in 2000.

The ordinary batsman gave many other ordinary batsmen the dream to beat the legend’s records. He has been the most revered players in Pakistani team and always remained out of spotlight.

Sachin tendulkar is on first rank in the highest run scorer but  we can wish luck to Younis to see his name on top or even in top 5 highest scorers.

Pakistan Women cricket team won T20 against Bengali tigresses

Pakistan is trying hard to revive true cricket spirit and for that reason they invited Bangladeshi women cricket team here.
In first T20 international; Pakistan Women Cricket team defeated Bangladesh by 29 runs at the Southend Club ground in Karachi on Wednesday.

In reply to Pakistan's 125-run target, Bangladesh could only score 95 for seven wickets in their 20 overs. Ayasha Rahman scored 23, Fargana Hoque 23 and Rumana Ahmed 22 runs.

Earlier, Pakistan skipper Sana Mir won the toss and opted to bat. The team reached their score of 124 runs with the help of Bisma Maroof's 65 and 44 runs by Javeria Khan.

Anam Amin grabbed two wickets for the green-shirts.

The visiting Bangladeshi women team will play their second T20 on October 2, followed by the ODIs on October 4 and 6.

The series in Karachi is a welcome sign for the return of international cricket to Pakistan, where no international cricket matches were played between 2009 and 2015 after a terrorist attack on the Sri Lanka team's bus in Lahore in March 2009. Before Bangladeshi team arrived, few months back Zimbabwe men's side toured Pakistan in May-June this year for two Twenty20 internationals and three one-day matches.

Security is on high alert and cricket lovers are hopeful that in future more cricket teams will come to Pakistan and that will revive international cricket here. Pakistani Women team was highly applauded on their good performance on social media as well.

Gayle is in for PSL, now that's a news for cricket lovers

Pakistan Super League (PSL) secretariat head Najam Sethi has said that it is a major boost for the T20 league that West Indian superstar Chris Gayle has confirmed his participation in the tournament.

Gayle is one of the most sought-after players in the world’s T20 leagues and his confirmation has increased the credibility and excitement surrounding the PSL.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has already announced that the league will take place in Doha, Qatar from February 4 to 24.

“It’s a major breakthrough for the PSL that Gayle has agreed to play,” Sethi told a national daily. "Only a few players enjoy the same reputation Gayle does and we’re very excited to have him. We’ve been working really hard to get Gayle on board and have been on his trail for the past four weeks.”

Apart from his extraordinary international record, Gayle also boasts unmatched domestic T20 numbers — scoring 8,224 runs in 222 T20 matches at an average of 44.21 and a strike rate of nearly 150 (149.25) with 16 centuries and 52 fifties. Along the way, he has smashed 586 sixes and 640 fours; a reflection of his destructive nature and brute force up the order.

Apart from Gayle, West Indies T20 captain Darren Sammy has also agreed to be part of the extravaganza, while compatriots Kieron Pollard, Samuel Badree and Sunile Narine are in line to star in the PSL as well.

Gayle was the most searched person on Google during CW 2015, and the event organized by PCB is expected to be revival of cricket under Pakistan's banner. Fans of Gayle are happy over this news and want him to be good as always in PSL. Due to security issues game is to be played in Doha, and we are waiting for the moment to come when international teams come on our land and we can actually celebrate the revival if international cricket.

Zaheer held the post of advisor to the PCB chairman and is considered as a respectable individual in the world. He is also known as the ‘Asian Bradman’ because of his playing style and reputation.

Former greats Majid Khan and Asif Iqbal were also in line to be nominated but Zaheer won the race.

Earlier, Najam Sethi withdrew his nomination after the ICC was going to consider his appointment as the president from July 1 for a tenure of one year.

The final recommendation will be sent to Prime Minister for approval and after that the newly selected President will take charge from July 2015.

Lahorites celebrate cricket on home ground, celebrities also attended Pak vs. Zimb match

The Zimbabwe team playing on Pakistan ground has re-lived the spirit of international cricket in Pakistan. This has not only brought families to the stadium but celebrities as well. The Pak vs. Zim has become a trending topic on social media and Instagram as well. The stadium is jam packed in this hot weather of Lahore and we saw many celebrities in the ground to watch match and promote peace culture.

Amid this long list of Pakistani celebs from fashion and showbiz industry, Pakistan Tehreek-I – Insaf’s chairman Imran Khan with his wife Reham also went to Qaddafi stadium for match, in high protocol.

Apart from that Pakistan coach Waqar Younis believes the team was missing off spinner Saeed Ajmal as it makes a belated return to playing international fixtures at home.

Khaleej Times reported, Ajmal was overlooked for the groundbreaking series of two Twenty20 games at home against Zimbabwe, having struggled last month against Bangladesh as he tried to implement a new bowling action due to official scrutiny of his previous suspect bent-arm action.

It is also expected that Ajmal is also unlikely to be part of the three one-day games against Zimbabwe next week.

The spectators endured several checkpoints to enter the stadium and at least 4,000 security officials were on hand.

Approximately 27,000 people saw match on opening day and same number is expected today. People are happy to see the arrangements and Pakistan playing on its home ground.

Here is a glimpse of the celebs’ Instagram.

Legendary cricketer Waseem Akram becomes junior Tendulkar’s ‘Mentor’

An honor for Pakistan and shame for Cricket Board.
It is said that culture and sports has no borders and hence it is proven as well now. We do not respect and utilize talent of our nation but perhaps in this matter India has got edge. Not only they give acknowledgment to their talented people but also try to get benefits from neighboring country’s talent as well.

It was reported on national and Indian media that Pakistan’s former star and all-rounder Wasim Akram is giving bowling tips to Arjun Tendulkar, son of great Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar. No doubt it is a big news. Sachin who is himself a legend trusts anyone but Waseem to train his son and chose him to become his mentor, and may be the junior Tendulkar will keep the legacy go on.

The former Pakistan team’s captain gave the tips to 15-year old Tendulkar at Mumbai’s Wankhede stadium where the former Indian maestro was also present.

“He’s young, he is keen and is a left arm medium pacer. I spoke to him about his action and swing. He is like a sponge, that’s a good thing,” Akram was quoted by Indian media as saying.

Wasim Akram is the bowling coach of Shah Rukh Khan’s Kolkata Knight Riders in Indian Premier League as well. Once in a show Akram said that I cannot ask my board to choose me, it is their duty to realize who can be a better coach for their team, one who is from that soil or the one even whose language our players cannot understand.

This is an honor for Akram and perhaps a shame for our cricket board who is unable to respect his talent and give him an opportunity to serve his national team as a mentor.

Voice of cricket is silent, Richie Benaud dies at 84

The veteran cricketer and the legendary commentator Richie Benaud, died at the age of 84. He was described as the 'Godfather of cricket'.

He had been receiving radiation treatment for skin cancer since November when he was admitted to a Sydney hospice on Thursday.

News of his death threw the cricket world and beyond into mourning as tributes flowed in to a man remembered for his wry sense of humor, expertise and for simply being a 'true gentleman'.
The iconic broadcaster passed away peacefully in his sleep overnight surrounded by his wife Daphne and family.

In recognition of his towering stature, Prime Minister Tony Abbott has offered his family a state funeral.

A veteran of 63 Test matches, Benaud played a pivotal role in the formation of World Series Cricket in the 1970s and was one of the world's most recognized commentators.

In a broadcast career spanning more than five decades, he was instrumental in establishing one-day cricket on television.

Such was influence; his dry one-liners and impeccable delivery - including one simple word 'marvelous' - were adopted as part of the Australian lexicon.

Australian Test captain Michael Clarke said Benaud was a gentleman who played cricket in the right spirit.

Prime Minister David Cameron said: 'I grew up listening to Richie Benaud's wonderful cricket commentary. Like all fans of the sport, I will miss him very much.'

Cricket fans also paid tribute on social around the world and said it’s a dark day for cricket.

Nervy win of Australia tingled Indians, Asia lost WC 2015

It was the final battle of India for World cup but unfortunately they lost the match badly and Australian Kangaroos jumped to the finals. While Indians not only faced defeat we saw many other emotions as well.

The most trending issue was Kohli and Anushka during, as Kohli failed to give good performance; twitteratis blamed Anishka for his bad day. The social media blamed and shamed both the stars, in the meanwhile Ganguly got into this fight and saved Anushka by saying that why she has to be blamed? She has done nothing wrong. Even in my point of view she was to cheer her love but not to distract him and if India loses it’s not her fault.

“What wrong Anushka has done? She had only gone to see a cricket match like the families of other players. It is unfair to blame her for Kohli’s performance. It is the immaturity of people (criticizing Anushka),” said the former Indian team captain Saurav Ganguly.

Another obtrusive behavior which I have witnessed today on social media, was that Pakistani’s were divided into two groups. Yesterday Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarrar retweeted about bringing the cup in Asian country and many Pakistanis second her opinion that even if Pakistan is unable to get into finals, our sympathies and prayers are with Indians because we belong to same region.

On the contrary the Facebook was full of the posts hoping for India’s defeat and Aussies win. It depicts that a large number of people were divided into two mindsets. One believed that the cup should come into any of the Asian country and even if it is India we don’t mind and they debonairly accepted their expected win. The other group was completely scornful about India and they were hankering for India’s defeat. And many distributed sweets if their circle for celebrating India’s defeat.

So these are the two behavioral drawbacks of the match today which were widely seen and experienced. I believe that defeat is part of game as well, but striking in someone’s personal life is morally wrong. The love birds were criticized and slammed too much on social media. The other side of picture could be this that Aussies are brilliantly too good that is why they have been winning since many years.

Snapping Anushka or celebrating for India’s defeat could no good to anyone but the narrows minds are unable to understand this.
