Free internet is just a balloon away, thanks to google

Up above the world so high, like a Free WiFi Balloon in the sky, will be the new rhyme for kids of Sri Lanka.
There was a time when Internet was connected through telephone lines and wires. We all have been through the mess of internet cards and what not. The era of technology has brought tremendous changes and facilitate new generation with the things we have not even thought of. Google time and again proves its wondrous place in the world of IT and gives us another chance to hail for its services,

That’s not all. We've all experienced those annoying Internet dead zones where signals are blocked by geographic features or where you're just so isolated that it's not practical to build a tower or install wires. Unfortunately, that's still how it is for people in large parts of the world. Even the latest technologies are unable to reach there; but Google has found a unique way to give access of Internet in all those dead and isolated zones.

They call it “Project Loon“, somewhere in 2013 it began on New Zealand's South Island. It was as an attempt to bring network connectivity to farmers in isolated areas where physical wires were difficult or too costly to install, or were just too remote for consistent reception.

The project Loon used remote-controlled balloons (like weather balloons, not the birthday kind) instead of traditional landlines or satellites to broadcast LTE cellular service.

The news has come that after success from the experiments in New Zealand, Sri Lanka is slated to be the first country to offer balloon-based Internet access to everyone.

The Sri Lankan government signed an agreement with Google to bring broadband Internet access to all 21 million people on the island In late July 2015. This is marked as a significant step up from the estimated 2.8 million mobile connections and 606,000 landlines currently available, which are one way or another unable to reach remote areas of Sri Lanka.

Essentially weather balloons are used satellites. The balloons broadcast 3G network access from the stratosphere to remote locations that otherwise can't get coverage.

Google describes Project Loon as "a network of balloons traveling on the edge of space, designed to connect people in rural and remote areas, help fill coverage gaps, and bring people back online after disasters."

We wish to see such initiative in Pakistan as well, and we hope after internet.org, Google will also look up for investments in Pakistan.

Is that Ice in the desert? Yes, it's real no dream

The solar power will turn moist of deserts in to ice and incredibly add a positive change in climate.
The problem of climate change is witnessed on a drastic level in all over the world and few people are trying to cope with the change and make this world sustain these changes.

In this respect we found a recent discovery from which the vast areas of deserts can be utilized in a positive way. This would include art and science both to make this new discovery and bring a revolution

Artist Ap Verheggen intends to drive home with the incredible SunGlacier project. Based in the Netherlands, Verheggen is developing a giant sun-powered artificial leaf that uses condensation to create ice out of humidity in the Saharan desert.

SunGlacier is part of a chain of projects that over time will stand for a new way of thinking about climate change. The SunGlacier project team focus attention on the current state of the art in relevant technology and its ability to offer solutions to the challenges of climate change. The process of climate change is so rapid that we need to do something as soon as possible for saving this earth. It’s changing quicker in our time and so the same response is required to deal with it.

The leaf technology will grab the moisture from the air and turn into ice; those leaves will be made planted in deserts and use solar energy technique.

It is also said that the Saharan atmosphere lack moist, so the engineers have heated the shipping container to 30 degrees Celsius and installed a humidifier that creates moisture. A fan, which simulates the fierce desert winds, is pointed at the ice. As the ice grows from the condensation, water collects at the base – an encouraging sign for water scarce countries in the Middle East.

According to a new website who reported about this unique project, hotter conditions are favorable to the experiment, since theoretically, more heat means more condensation, which means more ice and water.

This is surely a revolutionary project and if the SunGlaciers get some success, this will lead to a better climate.

Beware, spacecraft expected to hit earth next week

Hurtling spacecraft is uncontrolled and expected to do crash landing.
A Russian cargo ship laden with 6,000 pounds of food, fuel and other supplies destined for the International Space Station ran into trouble a few hours after its launch from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan Tuesday.

The NASA has said that space station has enough of food and can wait for the next round. Scientists have warned that a Russian spaceship is uncontrollably hurtling towards Earth at the speeds of 16,000mph and could crash land next week.

The Daily Star reported a space official confirmed that the descending supply capsule had nowhere else to go, and uncontrollable reactions had clearly started. The 7m-long Progress 59 cargo carrier is carrying 3 tons of goods and had lost control after having a system malfunction in orbit.

Thomas Reiter, director of human spaceflight and operations at the European Space Agency, has said they were trying and hoping to bring down the spaceship into the Pacific Ocean to avoid any debris falling on firm terrain.

The former astronaut said that if wasn't controlled, it could fall within a week, or at most one and a half weeks.

World is already facing climate change destructions, we have seen quake results in Nepal and heavy rains in Peshawar took so many lives. If the uncontrolled space craft falls in a densely populated area it can do great harm to humanity.

Losing weight may also cause you being sad

If you have bulks of fat and you think losing them will make you feel good then go ahead. Some people just go across the board for weight losing and the reason is that positive perception shown on media. In every morning show they are suggesting weight loss tips and diets. Everybody does not have same body type and all of these tips do not fit in their routines.

People usually think losing weight will give you happiness and some also get it; but there are few who does not get any kind of happiness out of this whole process. Scientists found relation between mental illness and weight loss.

A 2014 University College London study based on population data, found Britons who lost at least 5 per cent of their body weight were significantly worse off psychologically at a follow-up assessment than those who maintained their weight.

Speaking about his own 60-pound weight loss, the researcher writes "I suffered through injuries and fatigue as I lost weight, all the while isolating myself from friends and family. My running routine and calorie-watching bordered on obsessive and unhealthy."

"And even once I had dropped down to 160 lbs., from a maximum of 226 lbs., my throat clenched with dread and worry if the number on the scale rose by a pound or two. Yet people I knew saw me as an inspiration, an uplifting example of willpower."

Population studies, where researchers look through the medical records of people who have lost weight to see if there is any correlation between weight loss and mental illness, often support the idea that weight loss can negatively affect a person's mood, while clinical weight loss trials, where weight loss is interventionist in nature and occurs within a clinical environment, tend to be less conclusive.

When someone is restricting their kilojoule intake and losing weight it causes changes in the brain which leads to increases in their stress hormones, as well as increases in the amount of dynorphins their brain produces.

The doctors say if you start feeling any kind of sadness during weight loss process go for exercising only. It is the thing which will always keep your weight under control and keep you happy as well. Sometimes weight loss not only put in you in physical dangers but in mental situations as well.

Researchers say take "Sauna bath" and save your life

Sweating is good for health while researchers have found that a sauna does more than sweating. It can be a lifesaver, they say. Middle-aged men who take frequent saunas are less likely to die from heart conditions than those who do not, scientists have found.

Those who visited saunas most often experienced the greatest benefits of it. Even compared with men who took one sauna a week, their risk of dying from cardiovascular disease was 50% lower.

The study was conducted among 2,315 men aged 42 to 60 from eastern Finland, where there is a strong sauna tradition.

Researchers followed their progress for 21 years comparing death rates between those who went to the sauna once a week and others who made more visits that are frequent.

During the follow-up period, they recorded 190 sudden cardiac deaths, 281 fatal cases of coronary heart disease, 407 deaths from cardiovascular disease and 929 deaths from “all causes.”

The research, led by Jari Laukkanen, from the University of Eastern Finland at Kuopio, reported online in the journal Jama Internal Medicine.

We can make our own sauna type bath with steamy rooms so that we live more.
